Hey guys! Happy Spring!
To kick things off, here are the details for the Epic Contest I mentioned a few weeks ago.
Who: Kathleen Ortiz of Lowenstein Associates and Suzie Townsend of Fine Print Literary
What: Two people will win a twelve-minute Skype chat to ask anything you'd like - we made the entry rules a little more intricate than originally planned, so we thought we'd up the prize.
When: Contest begins on March 31. All entries due no later than April 21 by 11:59 p.m.
How: Vlog! Super easy. Just record a short video (no more than two minutes, please) of yourself telling us
I know a lot of people said "I don't have a web cam" or "I don't have video editing software," but seriously - it doesn't have to be fancy. Just straight video file is fine. We're not choosing based on funky graphics and transitions - just your responses in the video. Also, there are so many libraries with web cams you can use and if you're a college student, I'm fairly certain your school library/computer center has web cams as well.
If not, don't fret. There are many more contests coming this way as the Spring and Summer progress.
Sky's the limit on the twelve minutes - if you want to spend the entire 12 minutes having us read a query and asking for our straight out opinions, that's fine. If you want to ask us general questions on the publishing industry, that's cool. If you want to ask us what we think of politics in education...well...we'll try but can't promise we'll get you an answer in 12 minutes since we're both pretty passionate about it.
We're not requiring you to cross-post this anywhere, but we'd appreciate it if you helped spread the word! :)
Questions? Post them below, and I'll try to put them within this post as we receive them.

- A) a short statement on why you like a book that was sold by one of our agencies (click on the links on our names to see some titles or do some research - it can be on past, current or future releases. There's also Publisher's Marketplace (though it's not a complete list of all our agencies' sales, it has more books listed than what's on our Web sites.) and a bunch of other handy web sites with information. :) )
- B) What you think you could get out of a Skype conversation with us.
